Tri-District Programs (Baltimore, Long Island - New England, and New York)
See "Calendar" for dates for the following workshops.
Lasallian Youth Assembly
This popular assembly rotates between the three East coast districts. The New York District will host the summer assembly in 2003, LI-NE in 2004, and Baltimore in 2005. Focusing on fostering community, faith development and Christian Service, the assemblies create a unique sense of unity among Lasallian students across the District, Region and Institute. Traditionally the assemblies have lasted for about six days.
New Teachers Institute
This four-day summer program has evolved after its first three years and has been reorganized with an emphasis on practicality. It provides a brief orientation to Lasallian spirituality and pedagogy and then emphasizes both all throughout the four days. The participants not only benefit from the many insights and perspectives of the experienced staff, but also from the time built into the schedule to address individual concerns and to begin formulating actual plans for the upcoming year. The theme is "Becoming an Effective and Affective Teacher in a Lasallian School".
